Dr. is a graduate of Jinnah Post Graduate Medical Center in Pakistan. She completed her Internal Medicine Residency at New York St Vincent’s Medical Center and her Physiatry Fellowship at the Albert Einstein College of Medicine and Montefiore Medical Center in New York. Dr. is board-certified in Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation, acupuncture and wound care certified.

Dr. has a passion for medicine and learning, which brought her to the field of Physical Medicine and Rehabilitation. Her areas of expertise include brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, stroke and musculoskeletal disorders. She does acupuncture EMGs and Botox injections. Since the start of the opioid crisis for pain management, she developed a great interest in complementary and alternative medicine and learned Medical Acupuncture, especially for chronic pain management.

Why should someone choose you to care for their health?

My comprehensive patient evaluations, including a detailed history, thorough examination and desire to reach and treat the root cause of my patient’s problems, have always helped me to develop strong treatment plans of care resulting in the highest degree of patient satisfaction.

What is the most important thing your patients should expect from their professional relationship with you? What do you expect from them?

My application of integrative medicine, compassionate care, diversified knowledge and experience in physical medicine and rehabilitation have helped me develop a multidisciplinary plan of care for my patients. Each plan is individualized with the patient’s involvement as an integral part of the treatment team.

How do you spend your valuable personal time when you’re not caring for patients?

My long-term passion for helping underserved and underprivileged populations, especially women and children, has kept me involved in local and international philanthropic work. This work includes free medical camps, education, training and certification courses to promote health awareness and education to indigent populations around the globe.

Why did you choose your specialty and what is its greatest reward?

My passion for medicine and learning new knowledge made me explore the relatively new field of physical medicine and rehabilitation. The diverse nature of this specialty enables me to take care of patients from traumatic brain injuries to spinal cord issues to post-stroke rehabilitation. Including spasticity management Botox injections and various musculoskeletal evaluations and treatments. I have a special interest in geriatric rehabilitation programs and complementary and alternative medicine including Acupuncture. They are some of my most passionate interests.

Patient satisfaction and long-term doctor-patient relationships are my most rewarding experiences. As physiatrists, we always try to improve our patient’s physical health as we strongly believe in “Mobility is Medicine!”
